Mazatlan is a destination for many local and international events. Many of them take place in the renown Malecon, which is a 4.2 mile boardwalk stretching along the famous beaches of Playa Norte an Olas Altas. Some of the most noteworthy Mazatlan events include:
Carnaval - It takes place around February/March and it is world's 3rd largest carnaval. The event lasts for 5 days and features street performances and parties with live music and splendid Mexican food during the days and nights. Semana Santa - It is a Holy Week celebration and it traditionally attracts people from all over Mexico and from abroad. This event is like a mini carnaval and features multiple parties and street performances organzied in the Malecon.
Motorcycle Week - It is an international event that attracts motorycles from around the world. Sinaloa Festival of Arts - it is a month-long festival organized in cooperation with the reknown Angela Peralta Theatre and it features theatre, ballet, opera and other types of performances. Seasonal tickets are available.
